How Leaflet works

Leaflet document in 5 steps

These five steps are required only during the initial development of the document. A new edition of the document begins with step 3.

step1

1. Connect to the database

Leaflet adapts to your existing systems, regardless of size or brand. Direct access to data through the network avoids problems with file copies and since you only read the data no change is possible.

step2

2. Layout of dynamic templates

Draw graphic objects on the screen (text, image, geometric shape and bar codes). Create tables from simple to more sophisticated thanks to dynamic templates. Objects are dynamically linked to the database.

Work WYSIWYG by injecting data in real time in the template and display instantly the result on screen.

step3

3. Automatic filling of the pages

Pages are generated from the content of the database. Injection of templates, adding new pages, detection of any bad or missing data: All these operations are automatic and instantaneous and thousands of pages can be created in hours time.

step4

4. Adaptation and manual changes

Replace insert or remove products by hand in the generated pages and the rest of the catalog is updated immediately. Each page can be adjusted manually, independently of the rest: you keep full control over the final composition of the catalog. Alternatively it is possible to export pages to InDesign for complete freedom of layout. Links to data are kept in the Indesign document. An update can be done in both ways.

step5

5. Publication

Leaflet generates files accepted by your printshop, but also an interactive version of your catalog for the Internet or tablets without extra work. Electronic formats exploit the possibilities of the new media such as search indexes, hyperlinks, zoom etc …
